In addition to traditional psychodynamic “talk” psychotherapy, I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in-person in my office in Peekskill and Manhattan, and remotely via a secure telehealth platform.

KAP integrates ketamine medication with psychotherapy to address various mental health conditions such as trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, and addictions. This innovative modality offers a unique opportunity for breakthroughs and sustained symptom improvement.

Efficacy and Properties of KAP:

Ketamine is a legal and safe medication, that exhibits rapid antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects, often noticeable within hours and lasting up to two weeks. Its mechanism involves blocking NMDA receptors and stimulating AMPA receptors, enhancing neuroplasticity and forming new synaptic connections.

Administered via various methods, including sublingual lozenges, ketamine provides a profound therapeutic experience by facilitating emotional processing and memory exploration not easily achievable in traditional talk therapy.

Long-term benefits of KAP for Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and Other Mental Health Concerns:

Ketamine’s effects extend beyond the session, promoting the release of Brain-Derived Neurotropic Factors (BDNFs) for ten days, fostering robust neural growth and facilitating integration of insights gained during therapy.

Additionally, ketamine’s properties as an anesthetic aid in reducing chronic pain and inflammation, offering valuable insights into the subconscious’s relationship with illness and pain states.

Eligibility and KAP Treatment Process:

  1. Schedule an Initial Consultation: Meet with me to discuss your medical and mental health history, current concerns, and discuss whether KAP may be a suitable and effective treatment for you. This consultation is reimbursable by most insurance plans.

2. Schedule an appointment with a Ketamine prescriber (I will provide referrals) to determine eligibility, receive a prescription, and develop a personalized treatment plan. This visit is not covered by insurance but is reimbursable by some plans.

3. Preparation Sessions: Meet with me on the process and set intentions for KAP sessions.

4. KAP Dosing Session: Self-administer ketamine lozenges in a comfortable setting while receiving support from me. Dosing sessions can be done in-office, via telehealth, or some combination of the two modalities. Dosing sessions may of may not be covered by your insurance plan.

5. Integration Sessions: Review and integrate insights from dosing sessions in subsequent therapy sessions. We xan meet in the short-term, specifically addressing your KAP work, or you can decide to establish a longer term, clinical relationship if it feels like a good fit. Integration sessions are reimbursable by most insurance plans.

6. Follow-up Consultations: Monitor outcomes and adjust treatment as needed, with regular follow-ups scheduled with your Keyamine prescriber.

Cost of Treatment:

Our Client Coordinator, Jesse Hepworth, can assist you in determining your insurance benefits.

  1. While some aspects of treatment are not (yet) covered by insurance, KAP remains an affordable option for mental health care. Costs that may be reimbursable by insurance include the therapist’s hourly rate ($250 per 90 min session. If you have out-of-network coverage, we may be able to bill your insurer directly once your annual deductible has been met. In this instance, you may be responsible for a co-insurance, amounting to a percentage of the therapist’s fee.

  1. Non-reimbursable costs include the psychiatric evaluation and prescription, follow-up sessions with your prescriber, and ketamine lozenges.
